It has been ten years since I have seen Mango Street. And I am
not planning to set another foot in Mango Street ever again.
After I left Mango Street I spent four years in high school and
college. After I finished with school I applied at. A video game designer company. And now I am C.E.O. Of the company, so now I am rich!
But there is no way I am going to use my money to help that beat up Old Street, and do you known why? Because of all those terrible things those people did to me. And I still remember every single thing they did to me along with the people I saw doing bad things to others. And I still remember all of their faces.
Starting with those boys that would not let me go and kept on
kissing by those clowns. Also those boys that would not give my friend’s keys
back unless she kissed each one of them on the lips. And that old man on that box in that old store who wanted me to kiss him on the lips and in return he would give me a dollar I
didn’t even tell him whether I would do it or not but he didn’t care he just
kissed me and he didn’t even give me the dollar he promised me. Even the nuns at my school were not nice to me not letting me eat my lunch after school or the principle not believing the not that my mother signed to prove I could stay after school she even made me fell more a shamed about
where I live. Also those three sisters who think they can tell me what to do
saying one day I will have to go back telling me I will always be Mango street I
will decide what I will be , I decide where I will go and when I will go. And
last but not lest Rosa Vargas kids they are a good example of how Rotan that
street is and I gave up hope about helping that old street.
All of these things that have happened to me are why I have to decide not to go back to that old street. And one more rezone to never go back is look at what they do no one there has even tried to make life their better there. To quote dr.Suess from the move the loran, “nothing will get better until someone like you dose something.” And that is why I will never set another foot
in that beet up Old Street!
