Over the last couple months we’ve had a chance to visit a handful of colleges, but the one that stood out the most has been the Stephen F Austin State University. I knew the moment I arrived I felt joyful and at home on this college campus. The campus was amazing, beautiful, people were welcoming and very friendly. It also had many of its own different unique qualities that make it stand out.
SFA would be the perfect university for me mainly because it offers all the majors that I am currently interested in. Also because it has everything I want close and easy to obtain. I would be pleased at this college because it is a very friendly environment and would make my education fun. I believe that if I attended this college I would easily succeed because of all the help that is provided. One example of the many ways SFA helps its students is the AARC which stands for Academic Assistance and Resource Center. This is located in the library and its just an extra help provided by student tutors. In addition this school is very different from all the others because it is very small in size but it still offers more majors than most larger schools in Texas.
AVID helped me a bunch in feeling comfortable about this college and by teaching me beforehand all the things I needed to know about the variety of majors offered at different types of colleges. It helped me understand what kinds of questions I should ask and which would I surely need to know answers to in the future. AVID was also helpful in that I had already chosen my major during class and I knew exactly what I was looking for.
Overall, this trip to SFA was an amazing experience and one that I will never forget. Everything was so organized and not confusing at all. I loved the fact that it had many organizations and groups so that every student could find something to get involved in that they are interested in. Some of the activities that caught my attention was dance and cheerleading. They seemed to be very dedicated and good at what they did. It was obvious that they try their best to make SFA a wonderful university and one that everyone will soon want to attend.
In the end my trip to this school affected my decisions for the future by changing my perspectives on other schools. I had been stuck to one and had not give the opportunity to learn about others. SFA has helped me know and see of the many kinds of ways that other colleges offer so that students just like me can succeed in life. I’m not sure what university I will go to when I graduate high school, but I’m perfectly sure that Stephen F Austin State University is going to be one of my main choices. I am very grateful for the opportunity that my AVID class has given me to experience important things early on so that later I don’t have to worry that much about getting ready for college because I already know I am going. This is proof of how AVID is the perfect class that helps you accomplish your goals and dreams.
