Going to visit SFA was great experience. I’m really glad that Ms. Watkins held the bus in the morning so I was able to make it. This school really did blow my mind. It really did change my opinion on going to a major university. You’ll see why I really did like the school later in the blog.
First, SFA made me think more about what type of university I want to attend in the future. I‘m now more interested in small campuses like this one. SFA is really interactive with its students and how the students interact with each other as well. For instance when we went to go visit the library, which had a room where you can get help from other college students… I will get more into that later. Our tour guide also mentioned how in the beginning of the year they have a bunch of booths set up at the center of the campus so you can find opportunities to get involved in. Here they give each other gifts or supplies to start of the year. Also they let campus students get free admission to SFA games which nice because most schools don’t offer this either. I personally think that smaller universities like SFA offer more than larger universities (like OU).
Second, SFA classes. The classes in SFA aren’t very big. They have small classes which fit me perfectly. I think I will do way better in a smaller classes than in classes with over a hundred students. I feel like I will be able to concentrate in the class sizes SFA offers. I want to be able to see and hear my professor as clearly as possible. I feel like I will fall asleep or get easily distracted in larger classes. I also like that they have the Academic Assistance and Resource Center in the library, because I know I’ll be going there for help! Also if you have spare time you can volunteer yourself to help other students who are having trouble in the subjects that you’re mastering. This was what I talking about that the campus offers many things that you can use to meet new people. This allows you to become more known in school so there won’t be the problem of being too lonely.
Third, the location of the of the school. I really liked where it is located. I like how it’s far away from any major city. It’s in the middle of a forest mostly. I liked how it has a wonderful environment for me at least. There’s a lot places to go for nice walks or jogs. It’s surrounded by untouched wilderness. SFA offers many outdoor activities like hiking and rock climbing. Which is nice going out to see Mother Nature. Plus again here you’ll get to meet new people and the environment. SFA really does offer many activities, so there’s no reason to be bored on the couch at SFA.
All in all, SFA really does offer many activities. SFA isn’t a typical school at least for me.It really does provide many ways to make friends and get involved on the campus. SFA really did blow mind. For now, SFA is my favorite university so far. I will see in about 4 years where I end up… hopefully at SFA.
